Resistant Materials (OCR)

We follow OCR syllabus 1956.

Core knowledge and skills are covered

throughout the two years (two periods per

two week rotation).

Assessment

In Year 10 a ‘practice project’ is undertaken, which generally follows GCSE requirements, but with slightly reduced content.

The Major (assessed) Project begins just before the summer holiday at the end of Year 10 and runs through to Easter of Year Eleven. Project work accounts for at least four of the six allotted periods throughout the course, and is worth 60% of the final Examination mark, the other 40% being equally divided between two terminal papers.

All students are normally entered for the Higher Tier.
